For year 2010 and 2011, there was only 1 post from me, and it is an inspired speech from Adrian Tan. There have been many changes, ups and downs, but one thing for sure, I did not give up on internet marketing. In fact, I have learn about what does not work, and what it is like to work from home.

Laziness

Consistency

The 2 biggest factor for the slow progress in Internet Marketing. Its amazing that I can work so hard and diligently for people but when it comes to my own business, it seems strange that I will be automatically switch to being lazy.

Accountability

Finally, I realize that I do not take accountability to myself seriously. At work, clients like my work, employers can see my efforts and I actually hate disappointing anyone. But when it comes to myself, it seems strange that the words “i shall be hardworking tomorrow” always appears.

So for 2012, it is time to change this. Its not to say I am not doing well but the funny part is that even in my lazy mode, as long as I can balance my balance sheet, i can still live the “internet marketer poor man’s dream”.

Since 2012 is going to be a challenging year for everyone, with Europe filed with bad debts, US being unstable and china seem to be sinking as well, I guess it is nuts for me that I have decided to continue working for myself full time.

Stepping Out

Since I am technically “gifted”, and finally coming to grips with the “ins” and “outs” of niche marketing, I started to offer back linking services, blog creation services, and selling products from Amazon.com , ShareASale.com and Clickbank.com as well. All this gives me a minimum income that allows me to pay off my bills and yet work only a few hours a week.

I guess it is time to try in put in at least 5 hours of work and make a decent income.

Full of Ideas

As I meet new friends who are also my clients, it has been eye-opening of the businesses that people are involved in. I will have that “wow, you can do this for a living?” kind of reaction. It has been fun! Clients are mostly nice to me and I am grateful that they are willing to share their business model with me too

So it is time to share my experiences with everyone (or if i still have any readers left), and give accountability to myself on the progress (or the lack of progress and be more hardworking).

Content will include the following:

- Different interesting businesses I encountered that I will definitely not be able to do
- I have been constantly buying outsourcing services to facilitate my lazy lifestyle so I might recommend some
- Share my earnings (if I dare)
- Talk about certain strategies I have learnt along the way
- Technical difficulties that I can translate to easier understandable terms
- And finally, the projects I have in mind for 2012, with an attempt with creating iPhone apps

Thanks for reading, (if I have any readers left.. its been so long)
Andrew

Written by Adrian Tan, author of The Teenage Textbook (1988), was the
guest-of-honour at a recent NTU convocation ceremony. This was his
speech to the graduating class of 2008.

if you are done reading, let me know, I will be bringing this post down soon, unless there are others who happens to stumble upon this post as well.

———————————————

I must say thank you to the faculty and staff of the Wee Kim Wee
School of Communication and Information for inviting me to give your
convocation address. It’s a wonderful honor and a privilege for me to
speak here for ten minutes without fear of contradiction, defamation
or retaliation. I say this as a Singaporean and more so as a husband.

My wife is a wonderful person and perfect in every way except one. She
is the editor of a magazine. She corrects people for a living. She has
honed her expert skills over a quarter of a century, mostly by
practising at home during conversations between her and me.

On the other hand, I am a litigator. Essentially, I spend my day
telling people how wrong they are. I make my living being
disagreeable.

Nevertheless, there is perfect harmony in our matrimonial home. That
is because when an editor and a litigator have an argument, the one
who triumphs is always the wife.

And so I want to start by giving one piece of advice to the men: when
you’ve already won her heart, you don’t need to win every argument.

Marriage is considered one milestone of life. Some of you may already
be married. Some of you may never be married. Some of you will be
married. Some of you will enjoy the experience so much, you will be
married many, many times. Good for you.

The next big milestone in your life is today: your graduation. The end
of education. You’re done learning.

You’ve probably been told the big lie that “Learning is a lifelong
process” and that therefore you will continue studying and taking
masters’ degrees and doctorates and professorships and so on. You know
the sort of people who tell you that? Teachers. Don’t you think there
is some measure of conflict of interest? They are in the business of
learning, after all. Where would they be without you? They need you to
be repeat customers.

The good news is that they’re wrong.

The bad news is that you don’t need further education because your
entire life is over. It is gone. That may come as a shock to some of
you. You’re in your teens or early twenties. People may tell you that
you will live to be 70, 80, 90 years old. That is your life
expectancy.

I love that term: life expectancy. We all understand the term to mean
the average life span of a group of people. But I’m here to talk about
a bigger idea, which is what you expect from your life.

You may be very happy to know that Singapore is currently ranked as
the country with the third highest life expectancy. We are behind
Andorra and Japan, and tied with San Marino. It seems quite clear why
people in those countries, and ours, live so long. We share one thing
in common: our football teams are all hopeless. There’s very little
danger of any of our citizens having their pulses raised by watching
us play in the World Cup. Spectators are more likely to be lulled into
a gentle and restful nap.

Singaporeans have a life expectancy of 81.8 years. Singapore men live
to an average of 79.21 years, while Singapore women live more than
five years longer, probably to take into account the additional time
they need to spend in the bathroom.

So here you are, in your twenties, thinking that you’ll have another
40 years to go. Four decades in which to live long and prosper.

Bad news. Read the papers. There are people dropping dead when they’re
50, 40, 30 years old. Or quite possibly just after finishing their
convocation. They would be very disappointed that they didn’t meet
their life expectancy.

I’m here to tell you this. Forget about your life expectancy.

After all, it’s calculated based on an average. And you never, ever
want to expect being average.

Revisit those expectations. You might be looking forward to working,
falling in love, marrying, raising a family. You are told that, as
graduates, you should expect to find a job paying so much, where your
hours are so much, where your responsibilities are so much.

That is what is expected of you. And if you live up to it, it will be
an awful waste.

If you expect that, you will be limiting yourself. You will be living
your life according to boundaries set by average people. I have
nothing against average people. But no one should aspire to be them.
And you don’t need years of education by the best minds in Singapore
to prepare you to be average.

What you should prepare for is mess. Life’s a mess. You are not
entitled to expect anything from it. Life is not fair. Everything does
not balance out in the end. Life happens, and you have no control over
it. Good and bad things happen to you day by day, hour by hour, moment
by moment. Your degree is a poor armour against fate.

Don’t expect anything. Erase all life expectancies. Just live. Your
life is over as of today. At this point in time, you have grown as
tall as you will ever be, you are physically the fittest you will ever
be in your entire life and you are probably looking the best that you
will ever look. This is as good as it gets. It is all downhill from
here. Or up. No one knows.

What does this mean for you? It is good that your life is over.

Since your life is over, you are free. Let me tell you the many
wonderful things that you can do when you are free.

The most important is this: do not work.

Work is anything that you are compelled to do. By its very nature, it
is undesirable.

Work kills. The Japanese have a term “Karoshi”, which means death from
overwork. That’s the most dramatic form of how work can kill. But it
can also kill you in more subtle ways. If you work, then day by day,
bit by bit, your soul is chipped away, disintegrating until there’s
nothing left. A rock has been ground into sand and dust.

There’s a common misconception that work is necessary. You will meet
people working at miserable jobs. They tell you they are “making a
living”. No, they’re not. They’re dying, frittering away their
fast-extinguishing lives doing things which are, at best, meaningless
and, at worst, harmful.

People will tell you that work ennobles you, that work lends you a
certain dignity. Work makes you free. The slogan “Arbeit macht frei”
was placed at the entrances to a number of Nazi concentration camps.
Utter nonsense.

Do not waste the vast majority of your life doing something you hate
so that you can spend the small remainder sliver of your life in
modest comfort. You may never reach that end anyway.

Resist the temptation to get a job. Instead, play. Find something you
enjoy doing. Do it. Over and over again. You will become good at it
for two reasons: you like it, and you do it often. Soon, that will
have value in itself.

I like arguing, and I love language. So, I became a litigator. I enjoy
it and I would do it for free. If I didn’t do that, I would’ve been in
some other type of work that still involved writing fiction – probably
a sports journalist.

So what should you do? You will find your own niche. I don’t imagine
you will need to look very hard. By this time in your life, you will
have a very good idea of what you will want to do. In fact, I’ll go
further and say the ideal situation would be that you will not be able
to stop yourself pursuing your passions. By this time you should know
what your obsessions are. If you enjoy showing off your knowledge and
feeling superior, you might become a teacher.

Find that pursuit that will energise you, consume you, become an
obsession. Each day, you must rise with a restless enthusiasm. If you
don’t, you are working.

Most of you will end up in activities which involve communication. To
those of you I have a second message: be wary of the truth. I’m not
asking you to speak it, or write it, for there are times when it is
dangerous or impossible to do those things. The truth has a great
capacity to offend and injure, and you will find that the closer you
are to someone, the more care you must take to disguise or even
conceal the truth. Often, there is great virtue in being evasive, or
equivocating. There is also great skill. Any child can blurt out the
truth, without thought to the consequences. It takes great maturity to
appreciate the value of silence.

In order to be wary of the truth, you must first know it. That
requires great frankness to yourself. Never fool the person in the
mirror.

I have told you that your life is over, that you should not work, and
that you should avoid telling the truth. I now say this to you: be
hated.

It’s not as easy as it sounds. Do you know anyone who hates you? Yet
every great figure who has contributed to the human race has been
hated, not just by one person, but often by a great many. That hatred
is so strong it has caused those great figures to be shunned, abused,
murdered and in one famous instance, nailed to a cross.

One does not have to be evil to be hated. In fact, it’s often the case
that one is hated precisely because one is trying to do right by one’s
own convictions. It is far too easy to be liked, one merely has to be
accommodating and hold no strong convictions. Then one will gravitate
towards the centre and settle into the average. That cannot be your
role. There are a great many bad people in the world, and if you are
not offending them, you must be bad yourself. Popularity is a sure
sign that you are doing something wrong.

The other side of the coin is this: fall in love.

I didn’t say “be loved”. That requires too much compromise. If one
changes one’s looks, personality and values, one can be loved by
anyone.

Rather, I exhort you to love another human being. It may seem odd for
me to tell you this. You may expect it to happen naturally, without
deliberation. That is false. Modern society is anti-love. We’ve taken
a microscope to everyone to bring out their flaws and shortcomings. It
far easier to find a reason not to love someone, than otherwise.
Rejection requires only one reason. Love requires complete acceptance.
It is hard work – the only kind of work that I find palatable.

Loving someone has great benefits. There is admiration, learning,
attraction and something which, for the want of a better word, we call
happiness. In loving someone, we become inspired to better ourselves
in every way. We learn the truth worthlessness of material things. We
celebrate being human. Loving is good for the soul.

Loving someone is therefore very important, and it is also important
to choose the right person. Despite popular culture, love doesn’t
happen by chance, at first sight, across a crowded dance floor. It
grows slowly, sinking roots first before branching and blossoming. It
is not a silly weed, but a mighty tree that weathers every storm.
You will find, that when you have someone to love, that the face is
less important than the brain, and the body is less important than the
heart.

You will also find that it is no great tragedy if your love is not
reciprocated. You are not doing it to be loved back. Its value is to
inspire you.

Finally, you will find that there is no half-measure when it comes to
loving someone. You either don’t, or you do with every cell in your
body, completely and utterly, without reservation or apology. It
consumes you, and you are reborn, all the better for it.

Don’t work. Avoid telling the truth. Be hated. Love someone.

Hi Everyone, just want to say meRRy XmAs and a Happy New Year to anyone who is still sober from the Xmas Parties.

I am not a Christian but I have always enjoyed this festive season (there is a sense of happiness amid the dark times). And it was nice to have a Kentucky Fried Chicken family feast, as well as some sushi with my family (too bad my mum had to work late). And this will be my beloved niece’s 2nd Xmas. She has been eyeing the presents I have for her.

(borrowed this belowed picture from freetrafficsystem.com and will be writing a post about them soon)

I know it has been a long time since I have updated this blog with any new posts but writing is not really my forte i guess. Anyway, another few days and the new year is upon us too. So it is time for reflections, for new targets (or in my case, renewing my old targets). These are the questions that always pop up in my head every year end (yes, I tend to talk to myself):

- So how was your year?

- Do you see progress or do you feel stagnant?

- Do you feel you have moved a level higher in your IM progress or still stuck at the same position?

- What should be done to improve?

For me, this year was a roller coaster ride. Income went up and down and discipline was really a challenge to maintain. And time really flies. I quit my job and started a full time business online on 1st September 2008 and now is almost till the end of 2009. Wow!

The beginning first six months was pretty ok, and july till October was pretty bad, and now, things seem to be looking up again. There are so many adjustments and seriously speaking, I am still not really in the “responsibility” mode for my business.

But things are improving.

- I started without any partners in business but ended the year with 2 great business partners (yes, you, Ben and John).

- Got myself a new mentor, and a few of us are learning so much from a certain marketer that is imparting so much skills to us (will soon be revealed).

- Finally found 2 great and hardworking writers (who are on a month long xmas break)

And since there are 6 more days to the new year, I figure I will write some resources that has helped, guided and showed me some ways to leverage time. And to share with everyone in the next 6 days before I disappear without a post in the new year.

So enjoy the Xmas holidays, the new year holidays, and hope that the world will be a better place (the climate is pretty screwed up these days but no harm in being optimistic).

Always believe in the law of attraction, and just think about having better times and higher income, and through your actions, it will come. (I am telling myself this, but you are welcome to share this optimism as well)

Happy Holidays, Merry Xmas and a Happy Year too!

Andrew

I am finally free. My holiday starts from the 19th of June all the way until the 13th of July 2008! Woo HOO!!

After being so busy working and trying to balance so many projects, I can finally do what I am interested, which is to Bum Market Back To Financial Freedom!

But First……Holiday to bangkok!

Hi Everyone,

First of all, happy mothers to all the mothers out there. Thanks for all the hard work, including my mum. Though my mother’s day dinner was pretty funny that we ended up eating MacDonald instead of a proper restaurant, it was at least finally having the entire family having dinner together.Felt good.

As for the restaurant who did not serve us our food after waiting one hour, just wish you will not do that to another customer again.

And next of all, happy birthday to myself. Thanks my girlfriend for being the first person to wish me too. (As well as those little characters in your house.)

Assessment For May 2007 to May 2008:

Looking back at one year ago, when i first started my IM discovery, things have certainly moved on, though at a very slow pace. Took me 9 months to realize that earning money is all about action and another 3 months of writing articles, testing with Adwords, selling Private Label Rights as well as outsourcing.

Sadly, for the month of May, I barely do anything due to my work but counting down to another 3 weeks and I will roughly get a 3 week to 1 month break from work to concentrate on IM and tie up some loose ends.

Till Date: Earnings for this whole year was only $1k plus but my spending on education was definitely more than at least $4k. So this is a deficit.

Resolution For May 2008 to May 2009

Ultimate Aim: To turn full time and bring in a monthly figure of minimum $3k.

Currently: Bringing in $100 per month. So I am way off my mark of $3k. But most importantly, actions are becoming clearer of what works and what does not.

Visualization Target:

- Find partners and spur each other on

- Be an expert in one traffic source

- Outsource, outsource, outsource

- Create 3 personal products

- Be conducting my own IM class by the end of next year.

So let’s get cracking. First up, my full time IM adventure starts on June 08, after quitting my job. Woo Hoo!

Regards,

Hi friends,

Bum Marketing Daily Diary

I am going to use this blog as a daily diary of what I do everyday in order to generate the money I am targeting. I am not sure who will be interested by I realized that a blog is the best place I can record my daily actions, better than writing it in excel spreadsheet. So from today onwards, I will try as much to update this blog daily, but it may not be anything interesting for anyone to read as I will just be recording my daily actions.

This will serve as a reminder of what I do everyday and whether it is productive and how long did it took all these actions to bear any fruit. Anyway, my monthly progress reports starts on the 16th of every month to the following month 15th. No business expenses will be included since I have totally lost count and it is definitely too much money I have spent.

—————————————————————————

My progress report for 2007 are as follows:

Amount made from clickbank in 2007: $192.90

Amount made from bluehost: $455

Amount made from blogs:$20

Amount from CPA: $10

Total from May 2007 to December 2007: $677.9

Earnings Per Month Average: $677.9 divide by 8 months, round off to $84

Earnings Per Day: $84 divide by 30 days = $2.8

Total Articles Written:40

Subscribers: 19

Total Websites Created: 5 websites but only 1 making a bit of money.

Total Squidoo Pages: 2

Verdict: Too much learning, too much waiting and not enough actions taken to increase sales and increase traffic. Waste time reading too many blogs as well.

—————————————————————————

Progress For 2008:

After reading 5 bucks a day, I decided to change my behaviour. The book was not very great in terms of learning anything new about making more money on the internet but the key point I learned was the point about setting clear daily, monthly and eventual targets and constantly reminding myself about my goals, and continue taking actions. I have slack for the first 8 months of learning about Internet Marketing and though I know about bum marketing, I did behave more like a bum than marketing it more often.

So on Jan 08, I set my new targets to achieve $100 per month and get hit 100 subscribers for my niche (definitely not internet marketing niche).

—————————————————————————

Period Jan 15 to Feb 15 (Target: Earn $100 And Reach 100 Subscribers):

Click bank Sales: $66.75

Total Subscribers from 2007: 19

Total Subscribers in this period: 39

Total Subscribers: 19 + 39 = 58

Target Amount Failed: $100 – $66.75 = $33.25

Total Subscribers Failed: 100 – 52 = 48

Total Articles Written: 12

Total Websites Created: 1 (But no sales generated from it so far.)

Total Squidoo Pages: 0

Remarks: Was having fever, cough and flu. Total sick for 3 weeks.

Verdict: Target Failed

—————————————————————————

Period Mar 16 to Mar 15 (Target: Earn $100 And Reach 100 Subscribers):

Click bank Sales: $85.47

Affiliate X Sales: $10

Mass Control: $15

Total Sales: $110.47

Total Subscribers From Last Month: 58

Total Subscribers in this period:50

Total Subscribers: 58 + 50 =108

Target Amount Achieved: $110.47

Total Subscribers Achieved: 108

Total Articles Written: 43

Remarks:

Redo squeeze page to increase conversion rates to capture names and emails.

Create new emails to opt-in readers.

Created 2 new squidoo pages, and edit another 2 existing squidoo pages created in 2007.

Attracted 100 unique visitors on 2 different days out of 1 month all from writing and submitting articles. First time ever.

Verdict: Target Achieved

—————————————————————————

Period Mar 16 to Mar 15 (Target: Earn $200 And Reach 200 Subscribers):

May 16: Just rest and check statistics. Edit squidoo pages.

May 17:

Writing this blog post at 2:39am.

Will log down everything I do everyday.

No sales so far.

2 new subscribers so far.

To be continued daily………………………………….

Not much of activity lately, partly because I was busy during the Chinese New Year holidays and I have been sick since the 11 of Feb.

What a torture!
- Fever for 4 straight days
- Add the flu virus that I could barely smell anything
- Add the coughing that felt like I could cough my lungs out

The good news is that fever is gone finally, flu and cough is running out of steam but the bad news for me is that now almost everyone in my family is sick.
All yes, everyone is blaming me for their sickness. ~~~~~

At least, finally, I can concentrate on bumming the marketing away, since I wasted so much time not doing anything for the past 2 weeks.

Just want to say what a good post by Andrew Tan from www.oasisofinspiration.com. Made me think a lot about the society in Singapore.

To Andrew Tan, I was thinking of leaving a comment on your blog but as I wrote, it became longer and now it suddenly become long enough for a blog post. So I figure, why not treat it like a tag and continue this discussion on my blog too. Hopefully I will not offend anyone in this post. I have a slight belief in the way Singaporeans view their government and how I view the singapore government (since I am a malaysian living in Singapore).

Poverty is happening around the world and not just Singapore. Just look at Bill Gates for example, he will be donating almost 80% of his wealth to charity foundations, or hong kong’s Richard Li donating their money to help fight poverty but we are not seeing much better results around the world. There seem to be too much poverty and not enough man power to put a stop to it.

I once had this strange theory bubbling in my mind.

The word “Balance” comes to mind. When there is good, there is bad. And where there are riches, there will be poverty. Without the bad, how can the meaning of “good” exist. Similar for poverty. We cannot categorize the old people in the videos we see as poverty (Go to oasisofinspiration.com to watch the video). Rather, i know this may sound cruel, but we chose the path which will lead us to where we will be tomorrow.

Through a few experiences while I did that very little*2 bit of volunteer work did I realized some of the situation of the kind of elder generation that live in poverty.

Some situations:

- There are so many businessmen who suffered from their failures and can never stand up to fight back again. They also lose their will to live. They will beg, if there were donations, they will eat, if not, they will just sleep the night away.

- Some older generation refuse to let their kids look after them, they run away from home, but with no help, they will resort to begging, and collecting trash cans for a living.

- Some of them never receive any education but work the hard way, and never had any family. So when their age caught up with them, and with very little savings, and the fact that nobody wants to employ them anyway. Poverty catches up with them.

- The loss of family members through accidents made them lose their will to live. And with the loss of loved ones, there was no hope or aim in their life.

- Lack of financial education. This does not only happen to the older generation, it is still happening among us. We can fall into poverty if we do not educate ourselves to prepare for what the future has installed for us.

Actually, from my understanding, there should be government help available. Only problem is whether do the folks in the video we saw want the government’s help (from my understanding, many of them refuse any kind of help). I have met social workers and they are trying their best to give as much help as possible. But life of a social worker is tough, and the salary is not as attractive. So the lack of manpower also prevents charity organizations from spreading their wings to help more people.

Sometimes I wonder, are the poverty situation in Singapore different from the rest of the world. If you have been overseas, whether in thailand, where you see so many beggars, or in China, where I have seen worst cases. I have seen families that were so poor in Malaysia that they were living in a durian plantation, with just a small little roof over their heads and nothing else.

And when I come back to Singapore, I will still think, the situation may not be as bad. There are still rooms for improvement but it should not just come out from the government. A nation starts from its people, so let us do our part without waiting for the government, to give that extra helping hand.

Many times I have heard people complain about the government, but look around the other countries, their government, their security. I do not believe in getting anything from the government, other than they fulfill the basic necessity of water, electricity and a safe society. The rest, with our own hands, we can built our own future, and in the process, extend that extra helping hand to friends in need.

Hopefully no one felt offended,
Signing off,
Andrew Choong

Hi everyone,

It has been a while since I have updated my blogs. Gone were the days that I could keep blogging about trying to make money online. I was always feeling uncomfortable when I first started writing blogs about my journey to make money online. The more I wrote, the more frustrated I become as I still do not really know how to get money coming in.

And after oneday, things started to change for the better. Though I was still doing offline methods, I was able to get friends to get new domain web host under me and I finally broke the deadlock and got my first sale in clickbank as well. The happiest moment was when I got my check from bluehost. Previously I blog about my first check but due to some stupid mistakes I made, all my august blog posts are gone. Anyway I just want to share this best moment here.

Already cash the check but still waiting for the money to be transferred to me. I just talk to bluehost and they could actually transfer the money to paypal so it is better for fellow internet marketers who are staying outside of the US.

Previously, I stated that I wanted to earn $1000 from the affiliate marketing for the month of August. I have a few projects in the pipeline and but somehow, the target of $1000 for the month of August seems like a mile away. Never mind, I will keep pumping out projects, modifying and keep learning all the way. Most important is that there must be action in order to get a reaction.

Anyway, I have just recently setup a new blog that focuses on the Apple Iphone craze. It took a lot of planning and research (ok, it actually took me 3 full man-days to research all the avenues). Do give my new domain www.appleiphoneforxmas.com the support. Really need it. And the best part is that google.com has not indexed my new domain. So imagine how new it is.

So left some comments there if you can, and tell me how I can improve. Thank you for reading.

Finally manage to get back my blog to “almost” its original look. I was trying to setup a new blog and somehow, I remove all my blog files and luckily I have a backup of the postings until end of July. But my key moment was in august when I receive my cheque and that posting is gone!

Took me 7 hours to finally configure everything. I shall try to rewrite some of the blog that I have lost.

Moral of the story is: Do your backup, especially your database regularly, if you are someone like me who loves messing up my own blogs. 2 time I have messed up my blog and wasted another night. Nevermind, at least it was another new experience gained.

I will be going back for my army reservists training on Tuesday and it has been a pretty tiring weekend. Before I disappear for a few days, let me leave you with some nice moments.
It has been a pretty busy weekend. All my relatives came from Malaysia to attend the biggest Choong family event of the year. It’s my youngest sister’s wedding. It’s a inter-racial wedding and it was indeed an experience. At least I am glad my sister found a good husband and he can get along well with our family too. Here are some photos of the events.

Before my sister’s husband came, we had a short moment together, including the youngest member of the family, Wan ting baby.

Take a family photo before the cake is cut.

Hee hee, Chino Choong, our member of the family dressing up for the occasion too.

Friends and relatives, puppies and baby too.

Finally, at the end of the day, our puppies were died-tired.

I will include some more photos when I finish my reservist training.Anyway, I am glad everyone in our businesspeanuts group have setup their blogs. Please give more support to my friends.

When I first started my internet marketing venture, the experience was like this (in short form):

1) Excited
2) Buy and buy
3) Read and read
4) Lost in direction and lack of sleep
5) Buy and buy then start a blog like everyone about “making money online”, lack of ideas, doubts
6) Lost and frustrated
7) Constantly trying to find a mentor
Disappointed
9) Lack more sleep
10) Keep looking
11) Set realistic targets
12) Talk to more experience people
12) Form a businesspeanuts group
13) Hang it in there
14) Finally see some results
15) Can sleep better and earlier these days
15) Saw some cash coming in
16) Found a good mentor
17) Focus Focus Focus

As I have gathered some good friends (everyone of them are aspiring businessmen and businesswomen, always on the lookout for opportunities) to come on-board with me on this journey, and the funny thing was, I notice some of them are already beginning to form some traits that I have encountered as well. It was like a mirror-image, a reflection of I started my road to internet marketing, and maybe some of the other fellow marketers as well.

I realized that target setting and being focus, being positive very important but sometimes difficult to do, and it boils down to the word “discipline”. Laziness can happen, and I am very guilty of that in many occasions.

But I realized one way how to make myself pump up again, and that will be to see my targets everyday, and start imagining myself already achieving it. And when you open your eyes, something strange always happen. Suddenly you know what you should do, how to achieve and feel the burning passion in you to grab your target regardless of any mental blocks you have in your mind.

The book “The Secrets” woken me up to this point. I realized that I have been using “The law of attraction” to getting my degree, my jobs, my friends and win my girlfriend’s heart too.

But when it came to business, I suddenly have no confidence and I have no focus. I failed to position myself as a successful businessman, thus, there was no passion to follow through any ventures I had and giving up easily when I see difficulties.

So for everyone who is reading this (businesspeanuts group included), imagine yourself already earning your target amount, and imagine yourself spending it, you must really feel the money in your hands. Then open your eyes, look at your targets and start pumping!

Not TRY, is DO IT!

(PS: For Businesspeanuts group, if you are reading this, please check your email for all the tasks to be done and the main discussion on Wednesday night. I will send you more emails shortly for more materials to plan for a product.)

Recently receive this photo taken at World Internet Summit 07 Singapore which my friend, Donald from www.donaldlim.com, took for me. Armand Morin is a very friendly guy and his speech on stage was particularly entertaining. I know it’s a bit late to post this photo but it’s a pity to let this photo go to waste.
Its the weekends, did not write any articles, post just 1 yahoo! answer and all I did was just reading and reading and reading. I discovered a few new bloggers along the way, including the following:

http://connieong.com/ => I was reading from the www.internetmarketingsingapore.com forum that she got her first pay cheque and in her blog, she taught a great way to get leads as well as get affiliate sales as well. Great tip. Goto her blog to read more.

http://www.michelfortin.com/ => Great tips for copywriting

http://www.onlineinternetmarketingtip.com/ => Malaysia expert bloggers who are currently offering a linkback as well as organising a workshop to teach people how to blog.

http://www.stomp.com.sg => And one more discovery and I am wondering, can we make money by being active in this website. It has the advantage of being a media website and gets tons of local Singapore traffic. Maybe we can explore it.

The Secret by Rhonda Byrne => I bought the book at the Singapore bookfair for $20, cheaper by at least $10 bucks.
A very inspiration book about the law of attraction, and basically focusing your attention on what you want, and not focusing on what you do not want. Very good book in my personal view. No wonder it is creating such a wave around the world. Started reading on Friday. Should be able to finish it by today.

Caught 2 movies this weekend. Take a break from learning about internet marketing and time to get some leisure through the weekends. Watch 2 movies in 2 days. First up was Spiderman 3. Some didn’t really like it, some say its normal, and I say I love IT! I find it is better than the first 2 spiderman movies. Totally entertained by the movie.

The second movie, highly recommended by me if you are those zombie-killing, no-brainer, senseless movie critic. 28 weeks later. It was just killing by the zombies, how the people got infected, and how Britain was totally destroyed. The suspense and the excitement was gripping, and the violence, it was just senseless fun! (Though my girlfriend didn’t really appreciate the movie :Þ )

So for all internet marketers, take a break and check out these 2 movies. Hmm, maybe I am just the last few who hasn’t seen the movies until now.

I was looking around the internet and I was not really able to find any good, fashion dog collars on the internet.

Came across a few ads but I was not satisfied with any of the so-called “fashion dog collars” design. The most ideal so far was this fashion hound and the other was a website from Singapore. I was bringing my 2 shih tzu, chino and coco for a walk and I was thinking of maybe, pampering them with a nicer dog collar. I can’t let them run around, not when there are so many cars zooming past. Sometimes you want to have a good looking dog, a fashionable dog collar, and a shaggy ‘uncle’ bringing them around the neighbourhood, showing them off.

Anyway, I saw continue my search, hopefully i can find a singapore site selling them.

Also need to start searching for a dog day care centre as well, just in case my family needs to go overseas and no one is around to look after them.

Cheers!

Another year has passed and I have finally entered into club 30!

Registration is automatic and in some ways, you have no choice!

What am I talking about? Its my age. So on May, 12, 1977, I was shove into this world, screaming, shouting, and rambling and 30 years later, here I am again. Doing the same thing all over again, except with maturity, I am now here complaining, nagging and fussing over life. :Þ

My achievements for the past year has been at most, mediocre. Nothing to scream about, have made more failures than most other people have experience and gain a lot as well. While some would give up after failures and failures over business opportunities, over relationship, I hope that I will not, one day, be seduce to join them and start living ‘normal’ again. To all like-minded individuals, let us get together, be strong and with perseverance, we will get to see the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Never Give UP!

On May 11, 2007, I gathered a team of 4 friends and propose the idea of exploring internet marketing together. It will be a 6 months internet marketing project where we will focus on a target and explore all ways to be successful. Even though the cost of this project is very minimal, compared to the business that we were doing previously (all of us got to know each other when we were doing network marketing together, and now are all ex-”alumni” of that company). We are planning to have our first fruit juice stall in December but in the meantime, our plans will be focused on the internet. The best thing that network marketing gave us was these bunch of friends. Give us encouragement! Clap, Cheer And Hurrah!!!

How do you actually spot a smile from Chino? Exactly from what is in the photo, even his future wife doesnt really look happy yah! Dogs are just like humans, with feelings and they will want to communicate using their eyes. Look at them closely, after a while, you will begin to know when he will be happy, cheerful, naughty and trust me, when he does something wrong, his whole face says the story.

When he pees on somewhere other than his pee pan, the moment you look at him, seriously, his whole body gesture tells me he knows he did something wrong. Do not take him for granted, neither can you give in to him too much. (Ok, if my sister is reading this, yes I always give in to Chino, I just can’t help it, his eyes always manage to pick out the soft-hearted feelings in me!

In my next post, I shall post the worst day of Chino’s life, and trust me, one look and you will be sad as well.Â

Why?

Because their neck muscles are too weak!

Clarification:

Normal collar and training collars are different. Training collars are slight thicker while your normal collar are smaller and usually soft.

For Shih Tzu, I wonder what is on their mind sometimes. Ever since the arrival of Coco, life has not really been exactly happy for Chino. He has been with our family for almost 2 years now. He loves to play with his toy octopus, his toy car and is always eager for us to bring him for a walk. But recently, he got a new wife, another shih tzu named Coco. And he does not seem exactly happy, one reason being that his wife is only a few months and always bullying him….

Yes, you hear me right! Instead of Chino doing the bullying, it is Miss Coco bullying Chino. Wonder are all male shih tzu’s soft-hearted and the female shih tzu showing a stronger character? Anyway, Chino is more or less train to pee but occasionally, he will just refuse to change his habit of peeing the side of the sofa~~And you know what is the worst part? Coco is exactly doing that.

My God!~~~~

Love them but sometimes, the both of them can really get to you!

Shih Tzu, never one day have I ever thought that my family will have 2 little shih tzu as part of my family. I always love to see him (his name is Chino, my first shih tzu, say hi to him :Þ ) and this is one of his quiet moments alone. Whenever he is unhappy, he will walk to the living room and stare out the window. I just wonder what is going through his mind. But when looking at him, another idea struck my mind! Why not do a photo on him as well. Oh yes, look further below for Chino’s wife.

Wow! Wow! Wow! This is my first posting and I tell you, it was amazing. I was trying to find out how to blog, how to place the googles adsense program and this Ewen Chia just simply blows me away with his product! Though it took a while to follow his instructions to setup this blog, it was definitely more than what i expected!Â

The reason for my overwhelming happiness was this, truth be told, I have spent the last 3 weeks trying to do a website, testing out adwords, adsense, and affiliate marketing, and all I accomplish was overloading my brains with too much information!Â

Then one day, i remember it was on 29th April 2007, Ewen Chia appeared on the straits times newspaper being interviewed and the caption that caught me was “earning his first million on the internet”!!!!The straits times are a reputable newspaper in singapore so i decided to check out his webs and bought his product! Its simply so easy and informative that I finally have a clear vision and goals of what I want to achieve on the Internet.Â

Though I am supposed to be subtle about recommending products, but heck, this is my blog, I just want to say thank you to Ewen Chia!!!! A life saver, and now, to not let your product go to waste, I will do all I can to make Internet marketing my passion. Go to my productions recommendations page if you are interested.
