I use a keyword i am targeting that is not that competitive and should be easy to rank as my experiment for FTS.

In the mean while, I just realized I have more than 15 articles in my computer that I have written in the past but never submitted to any article directory.  Stupid move but it sure allows me to have more articles to convert to make full use of the Free Traffic System platform.

By the way, to Andrew Wee, thanks for the tips in the previous blog post comments you made.  I have written down the details and executing them.

Ok.  Thats it.  I have a slow plan to produce 4 unique articles for 4 different platforms and 1 spinnable article for Free Traffic System per day and see how things worked out.  Still have to change my squeeze page too.

This is the current sad status of my clickbank account. And truth be told, since i had found another way to find money on the Internet, I gave up clickbank for quite a while.

But it was always a wish of mine to see the bars of clickbank being in blue and grey everyday. So as of now, I have only made $25.48 for the whole month of April 2009.

Inspired by John Yeo of www.johnyeo.name as well advice from Andrew Wee of www.whoisandrewwee.com , I felt it was time to buck on clickbank. Consistency is the game and Andrew Wee gave me a lot of advice as well. There was no point in showing empty clickbank account.  And since i have all the time in the world, it was time.

Case Study : Weight Loss Niche

On this day, I have decided to document down my steps to turning this website profitable again. When I first started this health website in May 2007, i was hoping for it to be a hit and played around with it. It went through a number of transformations.

1 – It was first a review site, then i use ppc and article marketing to push traffic.
2 – After that, I made the website into a weight loss quiz site (using a script given out freely by Eben Pagan), but i got mixed results.
3 – Then I tried to add articles to the website so that it will look more like a full fledge website
4 – Then I converted the website into a blog but it wasn’t focus enough.
5 – And the final transformations became just a long squeeze page.

When I was very focused, I manage to churn out around 100 articles for this website. And majority of the articles was mainly submitted to ezinearticles. I once emailed Sean Mize and he mention that in terms of article marketing, ezinearticles is still the best and most effective place to get traffic.

Upon the advice, this was what I got:

I have another pen name to write those weight loss articles as well.

And after some cleaning up of my subscriber base, i have around 259 subscribers in my getresponse list. On average, I have about 5 to 8 new subscribers per month. This is very bad opt-in rate. Let me show you why.

This is capture by statcounter.com on 23rd April 2009.

On a total basis, this is what I have. A total of 191 visitors for the month of April 2009.

Based on a check of statcounter, I have a page that captures all subscribers who are confirmed subscribers via double opt-in, and this is the results.

But on a check on my getresponse list, out of 10 opt-ins, 3 subscribers have unsubscribed. So I could only find 7 subscribers left for this month.

Facts:

1 – A total of 191 visitors with 10 opt-ins. So the conversion rate is only 0.05%.
2 – Since 3 have unsubscribed, my conversion rate is really just 0.03%.

This is bad. And since only 7 have subscribed, I cannot really expect much sales from the opt-in.

So time for some revamp.

This will be for day 1. Let’s count down to the first 7 days and see what exactly is my blueprint and what is the results i am seeing. Hopefully, some sales can start coming in. I am doing this same plan for another 1 more website but it will remain more of a secret for now because it is a profitable niche than this weight loss site (Made around $483.50 for this website).

First up, I have been helping a friend setup DLGuard and Amember software.  What a learning process to go through.  I think i can start doing some videos and selling it.

Second, been running 3 campaigns using Yahoo Search Marketing and after failing to get any sales for my first 2 campaigns, my 3rd campaign is already seeing 2 clickbank sales.  Thanks to friends and a coach who has been giving us some great training.  His name will be revealed soon.

Thirdly, i finally started running my polls for a CPA offer again.  Though I lost money, i still consider it a step forward.  Spent $215 singapore dollars and earn $165 from my CPA network.  This was the first time i ever surpassed $100 for my efforts from the traffic in google content network.

Fourthly, subscribing to SENuke now.  Lets see how much money can this software bring my sales.

Business have started picking up.  Clickbank sales is still way below my usual mark but hopefully it starts to increase.

I sign on to both Patric Chan and Affilioblueprint courses and see if i can breakthrough from my current stagnation and strive for higher sales.  My main aim is still to conquer clickbank sales to achieve at least $3000 per month from it.  Though I have temptations to deviate to CPA networks and such, clickbank is something that i would like to conquer.

I have around 60 over articles not submitted yet so progress should have been much much better i guess.  Anyway, I have to apologize if some of you are looking for some information on what i am doing.  But basically, my methods are superbly easy and straight forward. Basically I have been very lazy for this product but it seems to bring in the best results.

This is what i have roughly done so far.

The simple 7 steps to small clickbank sales.

Step 1: Find a product in clickbank with gravity between 50 to 200

Step 2: Find long tail keywords and do abit of keyword spying on the competition, gather around 30 keywords (google keyword tool and keyword elite)

Step 3: Buy a domain name (namecheap.com) similar to the product you are promoting

Step 4: For the new domain name, set a redirect to your clickbank affiliate link

Step 5: Write 13 articles and submit to ezinearticles (3 sales from here. I still have 30 articles not submitted for this product)

Step 6: Use those 30 keywords and get as targeted as you can possibly be for some of these keywords. I created around 20 adgroups and slowly eliminated and left with only 6 adgroups now. But these 6 adgroups have generated around 8 sales over these 2 months.  I only did my homework in September and I got lazy, so it has been just 6 adgroups without any change for these 1 month plus.

Step 7: Monitor your adgroups cost versus your sales. As well as monitor which of your articles seem to be bringing in the sales.

Thats it.

Simple steps to accomplish right? I tried doing my own landing pages, squidoo pages but heck, I just can’t get the right formula.  So might as well just start driving traffic and get some sales on the road, and once there is money, I will spend more time perfecting my landing page skills.

For the time being, the bulk of my money will still have to be on creating websites for clients, as well as doing some part time jobs so that I can outsource more in future.

Last week, I bought this product call Market Samurai (bought it for US$87) and the promises seems good but the performance and stability has been questionable. It can do keyword research, find all the hubpages, squidoo lens and ezinearticles that has the keyword you are trying to target.  But the problem is performance.  And sometimes, the loading just cannot seem to finish.  I am comtemplating to ask for a refund or to wait for a further release.  Anyway here is how it looks like.

It is offering a free trial for 30 days.  It cost US$147 for the full version but there is no full version at the moment.  Whether you are using free or paid, it is the same version as they are still trying to solve many issues and the estimated time for the whole software to be stable seems to be at the end of the year.  So if you intend to buy now, I think you should just save your money until a stable system is out.

The last time I achieved a sale from clickbank was in last year september 2007 and so far, in my first 4 attempts at google adwords, I have already lost $400+. So for this fifth time, it feels great that my cost is still low and yet, the profits are there.

Finally … Finally…Finally..

Why the initial dejection from me? Because I have 2 campaigns, one for a CPA offer and one for this clickbank product. I was making a lost on that CPA offer but when the smell of profit is just about to come, I seem to have been slapped on that domain by Google. And the clickbank campaign was not really making money. Conclusion

You need to put in constant efforts to make your home based employment more dependable and to earn a regular income. In the beginning it will not be easy, however, once the kinks have been ironed out and the process streamlined, it will be easy. When it gets to the point of getting a pool of writers who outsource for one, that will be the point of hitting the jackpot and real money can be earned.

Anyway, I have been bored and today is the first time I check out the market place in sitepoint and suddenly, I learn so much more about building websites to sell, how everyone sells their service and the kind of money involved in buying content, buying websites as well as the selling portion.

My sales from clickbank has been awefully stagnant since I stopped writing any articles nor building any links. Guess it is time to get back to focus.

In a nutshell (hopefully my own explanation is clear enough), we submit our articles to ezinearticles.com to get backlinks as well as traffic.  Well, for Share A Post, you submit your blog post (useful and informative content) to the website and other bloggers who are looking for quality blog post to add into their blogs will republish your blog post. So you can see more of your post being republished on other blog sites.

Recently, I have been so busy at work and so burnt out from using my brain that I seem to have lost all interest in my work as well as in my internet marketing strategies. I can be sitting in front of the laptop after work and just not doing anything. The brain seems to freeze and no ideas, no inspiration and definitely a lost of momentum.

Most likely, this lifestyle will be over in the beginning of July when I am out of this job but for the time being, the struggles between work and online business is really bad.

The good thing though, I manage to secure $50+ dollars in commissions even though no action was done on my side at all. So more spare cash to spend when I am finally out of work. If you have any ideas for a JV for a project, let’s do it since I have the spare time coming up.

Above, there has been a slight improvement in traffic, though it is still small. But it also shows that my conversion rate has been quite pathetic because out of 1176 visitors to my squeeze page, only 62 has sign up as my subscriber.

So 62/1176 = 0.05% conversion rate. But the good thing is that out of 62 subscriber, one person bought my affiliate product (its an upsell package too). And the rest of my income comes from iContentRobot and Mass Control Revealed.

What did I do to create $124.43? (Not sure anyone is interested but I am writing down to remind myself what I did so that I know what else I can do to increase sales.)

For iContentRobot, review which I created a USfreeAds, blogspot website, using this businesspeanuts to promote it, created one squidoo page and uploaded 4 videos that I made personally and paste it to youtube.com and viddler.com. This effort created $72 and it is a monthly subscription. (Take note that I personally bought iContentRobot and therefore, I spent more than I make as I paid for a full year subscription.)

For my health site, created a total of 24 articles and submit to ezinearticles. Create 1 new squidoo page to promote other health affiliate product too. This created $40.18.

Made another $10 from Mass Control Revealed and $2.25 from selling text-links.

Best Buy For Me: iContentRobot

Seems like alot of people have misuse the articles from iContentRobot to spam the articles all over the internet. Personally, I find it a damn good software service that eliminates a lot of time needed to write articles. You can look at the chart above and check the date 8th April 2008. It garnered 144 unique visitors from 5 articles. And each of these article is 100 percent unique, even though it was produced from iContentRobot.

If anyone is interested, I will list out the steps I did to make each article unique and it will take less than an hour to complete 3 to 5 articles.

Diary for 24/03/2008, written another 5 articles and submitted it to ezinearticles.com.

But I just realized one thing. As a platinum member, my articles seem to get approve alot slower than when I was a basic upgrade member. I think your articles will tend to get approve slower when you are either in the basic or platinum membership as most people are in that 2 category.

But if you are in the basic upgrade membership, it seems that less people are in that category and therefore, the articles seem to get approve faster. Anyway, it was just my findings. Not sure if i am too overly sensitive.

Tested this socializer tool for web 2.0 as well. It is use for bookmarking a particular site you like to multiple social bookmarking sites. Test it out if you want.

Something is wrong:

Some one supposedly bought mass control revealed from me but i did not receive any payment but the subscriber manage to download the videos. I wonder how this had happen. All the stats tells me he has access but no payment was given to me from paypal.

Tasks I did today:

Experiment Using jetspinner

Using jetspinner, it created 18 new articles using just 1 article.  Submitted to the following directories to test the traffic from other article directories other than just using ezinearticles.com.  Selected 3 articles to test on these 3 article directories.  Will be expanding the list of experiments to other directories.

Results:

Total Opt-in = 5 new subscribers out of 33 unique visitors

Applied for jetspinner account. Allows you to make “almost” unique articles for different websites. Will be writing a new article and get jetspinner to spin out 21 different version of an article for me.

Register for 13 new accounts at 13 different article directories.

Actions For Existing Health Niche:

Submitted 5 new articles to ezinearticles.com for health niche.

Actions For Squidoo Lens:

Submitted 3 articles to ezinearticles.com for new squidoo lens. Created a new blog to point to squidoo lens.

Included RSS feed from this blog to my squidoo lens.
