Its time to make this blog alive again

For year 2010 and 2011, there was only 1 post from me, and it is an inspired speech from Adrian Tan. There have been many changes, ups and downs, but one thing for sure, I did not give up on internet marketing. In fact, I have learn about what does not work, and what it is like to work from home.

Laziness

Consistency

The 2 biggest factor for the slow progress in Internet Marketing. Its amazing that I can work so hard and diligently for people but when it comes to my own business, it seems strange that I will be automatically switch to being lazy.

Accountability

Finally, I realize that I do not take accountability to myself seriously. At work, clients like my work, employers can see my efforts and I actually hate disappointing anyone. But when it comes to myself, it seems strange that the words “i shall be hardworking tomorrow” always appears.

So for 2012, it is time to change this. Its not to say I am not doing well but the funny part is that even in my lazy mode, as long as I can balance my balance sheet, i can still live the “internet marketer poor man’s dream”.

Since 2012 is going to be a challenging year for everyone, with Europe filed with bad debts, US being unstable and china seem to be sinking as well, I guess it is nuts for me that I have decided to continue working for myself full time.

Stepping Out

Since I am technically “gifted”, and finally coming to grips with the “ins” and “outs” of niche marketing, I started to offer back linking services, blog creation services, and selling products from Amazon.com , ShareASale.com and Clickbank.com as well. All this gives me a minimum income that allows me to pay off my bills and yet work only a few hours a week.

I guess it is time to try in put in at least 5 hours of work and make a decent income.

Full of Ideas

As I meet new friends who are also my clients, it has been eye-opening of the businesses that people are involved in. I will have that “wow, you can do this for a living?” kind of reaction. It has been fun! Clients are mostly nice to me and I am grateful that they are willing to share their business model with me too

So it is time to share my experiences with everyone (or if i still have any readers left), and give accountability to myself on the progress (or the lack of progress and be more hardworking).

Content will include the following:

- Different interesting businesses I encountered that I will definitely not be able to do
- I have been constantly buying outsourcing services to facilitate my lazy lifestyle so I might recommend some
- Share my earnings (if I dare)
- Talk about certain strategies I have learnt along the way
- Technical difficulties that I can translate to easier understandable terms
- And finally, the projects I have in mind for 2012, with an attempt with creating iPhone apps

I must say thank you to the faculty and staff of the Wee Kim Wee
School of Communication and Information for inviting me to give your
convocation address. It’s a wonderful honor and a privilege for me to
speak here for ten minutes without fear of contradiction, defamation
or retaliation. I say this as a Singaporean and more so as a husband.

My wife is a wonderful person and perfect in every way except one. She
is the editor of a magazine. She corrects people for a living. She has
honed her expert skills over a quarter of a century, mostly by
practising at home during conversations between her and me.

On the other hand, I am a litigator. Essentially, I spend my day
telling people how wrong they are. I make my living being
disagreeable.

Nevertheless, there is perfect harmony in our matrimonial home. That
is because when an editor and a litigator have an argument, the one
who triumphs is always the wife.

And so I want to start by giving one piece of advice to the men: when
you’ve already won her heart, you don’t need to win every argument.

Marriage is considered one milestone of life. Some of you may already
be married. Some of you may never be married. Some of you will be
married. Some of you will enjoy the experience so much, you will be
married many, many times. Good for you.

The next big milestone in your life is today: your graduation. The end
of education. You’re done learning.

You’ve probably been told the big lie that “Learning is a lifelong
process” and that therefore you will continue studying and taking
masters’ degrees and doctorates and professorships and so on. You know
the sort of people who tell you that? Teachers. Don’t you think there
is some measure of conflict of interest? They are in the business of
learning, after all. Where would they be without you? They need you to
be repeat customers.

The good news is that they’re wrong.

The bad news is that you don’t need further education because your
entire life is over. It is gone. That may come as a shock to some of
you. You’re in your teens or early twenties. People may tell you that
you will live to be 70, 80, 90 years old. That is your life
expectancy.

I love that term: life expectancy. We all understand the term to mean
the average life span of a group of people. But I’m here to talk about
a bigger idea, which is what you expect from your life.

You may be very happy to know that Singapore is currently ranked as
the country with the third highest life expectancy. We are behind
Andorra and Japan, and tied with San Marino. It seems quite clear why
people in those countries, and ours, live so long. We share one thing
in common: our football teams are all hopeless. There’s very little
danger of any of our citizens having their pulses raised by watching
us play in the World Cup. Spectators are more likely to be lulled into
a gentle and restful nap.

Singaporeans have a life expectancy of 81.8 years. Singapore men live
to an average of 79.21 years, while Singapore women live more than
five years longer, probably to take into account the additional time
they need to spend in the bathroom.

So here you are, in your twenties, thinking that you’ll have another
40 years to go. Four decades in which to live long and prosper.

Bad news. Read the papers. There are people dropping dead when they’re
50, 40, 30 years old. Or quite possibly just after finishing their
convocation. They would be very disappointed that they didn’t meet
their life expectancy.

I’m here to tell you this. Forget about your life expectancy.

After all, it’s calculated based on an average. And you never, ever
want to expect being average.

Revisit those expectations. You might be looking forward to working,
falling in love, marrying, raising a family. You are told that, as
graduates, you should expect to find a job paying so much, where your
hours are so much, where your responsibilities are so much.

That is what is expected of you. And if you live up to it, it will be
an awful waste.

If you expect that, you will be limiting yourself. You will be living
your life according to boundaries set by average people. I have
nothing against average people. But no one should aspire to be them.
And you don’t need years of education by the best minds in Singapore
to prepare you to be average.

What you should prepare for is mess. Life’s a mess. You are not
entitled to expect anything from it. Life is not fair. Everything does
not balance out in the end. Life happens, and you have no control over
it. Good and bad things happen to you day by day, hour by hour, moment
by moment. Your degree is a poor armour against fate.

Don’t expect anything. Erase all life expectancies. Just live. Your
life is over as of today. At this point in time, you have grown as
tall as you will ever be, you are physically the fittest you will ever
be in your entire life and you are probably looking the best that you
will ever look. This is as good as it gets. It is all downhill from
here. Or up. No one knows.

What does this mean for you? It is good that your life is over.

Since your life is over, you are free. Let me tell you the many
wonderful things that you can do when you are free.

The most important is this: do not work.

Work is anything that you are compelled to do. By its very nature, it
is undesirable.

Work kills. The Japanese have a term “Karoshi”, which means death from
overwork. That’s the most dramatic form of how work can kill. But it
can also kill you in more subtle ways. If you work, then day by day,
bit by bit, your soul is chipped away, disintegrating until there’s
nothing left. A rock has been ground into sand and dust.

There’s a common misconception that work is necessary. You will meet
people working at miserable jobs. They tell you they are “making a
living”. No, they’re not. They’re dying, frittering away their
fast-extinguishing lives doing things which are, at best, meaningless
and, at worst, harmful.

People will tell you that work ennobles you, that work lends you a
certain dignity. Work makes you free. The slogan “Arbeit macht frei”
was placed at the entrances to a number of Nazi concentration camps.
Utter nonsense.

Do not waste the vast majority of your life doing something you hate
so that you can spend the small remainder sliver of your life in
modest comfort. You may never reach that end anyway.

Resist the temptation to get a job. Instead, play. Find something you
enjoy doing. Do it. Over and over again. You will become good at it
for two reasons: you like it, and you do it often. Soon, that will
have value in itself.

I like arguing, and I love language. So, I became a litigator. I enjoy
it and I would do it for free. If I didn’t do that, I would’ve been in
some other type of work that still involved writing fiction – probably
a sports journalist.

So what should you do? You will find your own niche. I don’t imagine
you will need to look very hard. By this time in your life, you will
have a very good idea of what you will want to do. In fact, I’ll go
further and say the ideal situation would be that you will not be able
to stop yourself pursuing your passions. By this time you should know
what your obsessions are. If you enjoy showing off your knowledge and
feeling superior, you might become a teacher.

Find that pursuit that will energise you, consume you, become an
obsession. Each day, you must rise with a restless enthusiasm. If you
don’t, you are working.

Most of you will end up in activities which involve communication. To
those of you I have a second message: be wary of the truth. I’m not
asking you to speak it, or write it, for there are times when it is
dangerous or impossible to do those things. The truth has a great
capacity to offend and injure, and you will find that the closer you
are to someone, the more care you must take to disguise or even
conceal the truth. Often, there is great virtue in being evasive, or
equivocating. There is also great skill. Any child can blurt out the
truth, without thought to the consequences. It takes great maturity to
appreciate the value of silence.

In order to be wary of the truth, you must first know it. That
requires great frankness to yourself. Never fool the person in the
mirror.

I have told you that your life is over, that you should not work, and
that you should avoid telling the truth. I now say this to you: be
hated.

It’s not as easy as it sounds. Do you know anyone who hates you? Yet
every great figure who has contributed to the human race has been
hated, not just by one person, but often by a great many. That hatred
is so strong it has caused those great figures to be shunned, abused,
murdered and in one famous instance, nailed to a cross.

One does not have to be evil to be hated. In fact, it’s often the case
that one is hated precisely because one is trying to do right by one’s
own convictions. It is far too easy to be liked, one merely has to be
accommodating and hold no strong convictions. Then one will gravitate
towards the centre and settle into the average. That cannot be your
role. There are a great many bad people in the world, and if you are
not offending them, you must be bad yourself. Popularity is a sure
sign that you are doing something wrong.

The other side of the coin is this: fall in love.

I didn’t say “be loved”. That requires too much compromise. If one
changes one’s looks, personality and values, one can be loved by
anyone.

Rather, I exhort you to love another human being. It may seem odd for
me to tell you this. You may expect it to happen naturally, without
deliberation. That is false. Modern society is anti-love. We’ve taken
a microscope to everyone to bring out their flaws and shortcomings. It
far easier to find a reason not to love someone, than otherwise.
Rejection requires only one reason. Love requires complete acceptance.
It is hard work – the only kind of work that I find palatable.

Loving someone has great benefits. There is admiration, learning,
attraction and something which, for the want of a better word, we call
happiness. In loving someone, we become inspired to better ourselves
in every way. We learn the truth worthlessness of material things. We
celebrate being human. Loving is good for the soul.

Loving someone is therefore very important, and it is also important
to choose the right person. Despite popular culture, love doesn’t
happen by chance, at first sight, across a crowded dance floor. It
grows slowly, sinking roots first before branching and blossoming. It
is not a silly weed, but a mighty tree that weathers every storm.
You will find, that when you have someone to love, that the face is
less important than the brain, and the body is less important than the
heart.

You will also find that it is no great tragedy if your love is not
reciprocated. You are not doing it to be loved back. Its value is to
inspire you.

Finally, you will find that there is no half-measure when it comes to
loving someone. You either don’t, or you do with every cell in your
body, completely and utterly, without reservation or apology. It
consumes you, and you are reborn, all the better for it.

Don’t work. Avoid telling the truth. Be hated. Love someone.

Merry Xmas to Anyone who stops by BusinessPeanuts.com

Hi Everyone, just want to say meRRy XmAs and a Happy New Year to anyone who is still sober from the Xmas Parties.

I am not a Christian but I have always enjoyed this festive season (there is a sense of happiness amid the dark times). And it was nice to have a Kentucky Fried Chicken family feast, as well as some sushi with my family (too bad my mum had to work late). And this will be my beloved niece’s 2nd Xmas. She has been eyeing the presents I have for her.

I know it has been a long time since I have updated this blog with any new posts but writing is not really my forte i guess. Anyway, another few days and the new year is upon us too. So it is time for reflections, for new targets (or in my case, renewing my old targets). These are the questions that always pop up in my head every year end (yes, I tend to talk to myself):

- So how was your year?

- Do you see progress or do you feel stagnant?

- Do you feel you have moved a level higher in your IM progress or still stuck at the same position?

- What should be done to improve?

For me, this year was a roller coaster ride. Income went up and down and discipline was really a challenge to maintain. And time really flies. I quit my job and started a full time business online on 1st September 2008 and now is almost till the end of 2009. Wow!

The beginning first six months was pretty ok, and july till October was pretty bad, and now, things seem to be looking up again. There are so many adjustments and seriously speaking, I am still not really in the “responsibility” mode for my business.

But things are improving.

- I started without any partners in business but ended the year with 2 great business partners (yes, you, Ben and John).

- Got myself a new mentor, and a few of us are learning so much from a certain marketer that is imparting so much skills to us (will soon be revealed).

- Finally found 2 great and hardworking writers (who are on a month long xmas break)

And since there are 6 more days to the new year, I figure I will write some resources that has helped, guided and showed me some ways to leverage time. And to share with everyone in the next 6 days before I disappear without a post in the new year.

So enjoy the Xmas holidays, the new year holidays, and hope that the world will be a better place (the climate is pretty screwed up these days but no harm in being optimistic).

Always believe in the law of attraction, and just think about having better times and higher income, and through your actions, it will come. (I am telling myself this, but you are welcome to share this optimism as well)

BlogCashMentor Is Finally Up!

It’s been a long time since I last updated my blog. This actually is a good thing because I have been very very busy.

Make Money Blogging Membership Site

First up, my collaboration project with one of the up and coming blogging expert John Yeo is almost done. Project BlogCashMentor is finally up and running. He is the man for blogging and it has been a great learning experience collaborating with him on this membership site. I am definitely not the marketing and blogging guy but in terms of technical skills, and the technical needs of this site, it has been a challenging experience.

Using Amember to power up the membership site has shown me one very important thing on the Internet Marketing scene. And coming from a guy who used to work in programming, documentation of how to change the needs of these software is bad. No offense to these software creators from Amember, DLGuard and affiliate-prophet but after testing these software, the documentation provided is amazingly “not helpful”.

Luckily, their helpdesk and forum are very responsive, especially amember and dlguard. Fast and responsive, and Amember comes out TOPS!

Amember Membership Software

For Amember, these are the things I am doing using the software for:

1 – Creating a membership script and setting the recurring payment from members on a monthly basis.

2 – Using the incremental plugin to slowly show contents for each new month only after they have paid subscription.

3 – Control the One time offer bonus so that only those who have paid the OTO can see the download link.

4 – Control the number of days and the number of times each member can download the bonuses.

5 – Recurring Payment is via paypal

6 – Use amember affiliate system to get affiliates and track their sales (It cannot pay affiliates for you but it can generate a thing call a mass pay which can be uploaded into paypal to pay your affiliates using that list)

DLGuard Software

For DLguard, the project I did was to hide the download link of your digital products. With all the hacking these days, DLGuard is useful for hiding the real link of your digital products and you can actually limit the number of times your customer can download from the product link. Dlguard can also be use for creating membership site but I have not tried it yet.

Personal Web Design Business

Recently I accepted a project to customize a zen-cart powered shopping cart website and I have to say that for such a free software, it was amazingly powerful. And there are a lot of support from the creators and users of this software. It was another learning curve for me to customize their templates and requirements but damn, it is powerful.

Zen Cart Software:

This is a free software for anyone who is interested in setting up a shopping cart website. Personally, I think they have a very good forum and some good plugins to use. Go download it at their website here => zen-cart

Clickbank Progress:

For some strange reasons, I only had time in June to manage some blog post and articles for my love and health niche, and it is nicely moving up to $200 for this July. Weird but nice. I like such things because I seriously have limited time for clickbank now.

Personal Project:

If you look to the right of this blog, you can see this project call CBproj. Just for fun, I created a small and damn simple app to send you an email immediately if you made an affiliate sale from clickbank. If you would like to test it, just sign up for it on the right. I am not releasing it yet. Creating some videos on how to use the app and then i will release it.

Using Free Traffic System For The First Time

Just a follow up on my previous blog post on starting all over again for my health website, and using the advice from Andrew Wee, I have just completed converting one of my articles to a spinnable format so that my articles can be spin into different articles. Now awaiting for approval from Free Traffic System (easier to refer as FTS) and see what kind of results can I expect.

I use a keyword i am targeting that is not that competitive and should be easy to rank as my experiment for FTS.

In the mean while, I just realized I have more than 15 articles in my computer that I have written in the past but never submitted to any article directory. Stupid move but it sure allows me to have more articles to convert to make full use of the Free Traffic System platform.

By the way, to Andrew Wee, thanks for the tips in the previous blog post comments you made. I have written down the details and executing them.

Ok. Thats it. I have a slow plan to produce 4 unique articles for 4 different platforms and 1 spinnable article for Free Traffic System per day and see how things worked out. Still have to change my squeeze page too.

Time To Improve Clickbank Sales After Neglecting It For So Long

Ever since I started doing videos for customers to teach them how to install software, I have became very very lazy in terms of writing articles to improve my clickbank sales. Though I can pretty much survive just by doing videos for customers, I have to admit laziness is the middle name now. I can enthusiastically setup software programs for people, learn new software, write my own programs but when it comes to the right things to do for clickbank, I have totally neglected my clickbank sales.

This is the current sad status of my clickbank account. And truth be told, since i had found another way to find money on the Internet, I gave up clickbank for quite a while.

But it was always a wish of mine to see the bars of clickbank being in blue and grey everyday. So as of now, I have only made $25.48 for the whole month of April 2009.

Inspired by John Yeo of www.johnyeo.name as well advice from Andrew Wee of www.whoisandrewwee.com , I felt it was time to buck on clickbank. Consistency is the game and Andrew Wee gave me a lot of advice as well. There was no point in showing empty clickbank account. And since i have all the time in the world, it was time.

Case Study : Weight Loss Niche

On this day, I have decided to document down my steps to turning this website profitable again. When I first started this health website in May 2007, i was hoping for it to be a hit and played around with it. It went through a number of transformations.

1 – It was first a review site, then i use ppc and article marketing to push traffic.
2 – After that, I made the website into a weight loss quiz site (using a script given out freely by Eben Pagan), but i got mixed results.
3 – Then I tried to add articles to the website so that it will look more like a full fledge website
4 – Then I converted the website into a blog but it wasn’t focus enough.
5 – And the final transformations became just a long squeeze page.

When I was very focused, I manage to churn out around 100 articles for this website. And majority of the articles was mainly submitted to ezinearticles. I once emailed Sean Mize and he mention that in terms of article marketing, ezinearticles is still the best and most effective place to get traffic.

Upon the advice, this was what I got:

And after some cleaning up of my subscriber base, i have around 259 subscribers in my getresponse list. On average, I have about 5 to 8 new subscribers per month. This is very bad opt-in rate. Let me show you why.

This is capture by statcounter.com on 23rd April 2009.

On a total basis, this is what I have. A total of 191 visitors for the month of April 2009.

Based on a check of statcounter, I have a page that captures all subscribers who are confirmed subscribers via double opt-in, and this is the results.

But on a check on my getresponse list, out of 10 opt-ins, 3 subscribers have unsubscribed. So I could only find 7 subscribers left for this month.

Facts:

1 – A total of 191 visitors with 10 opt-ins. So the conversion rate is only 0.05%.
2 – Since 3 have unsubscribed, my conversion rate is really just 0.03%.

This is bad. And since only 7 have subscribed, I cannot really expect much sales from the opt-in.

So time for some revamp.

Testing PPC with Yahoo Search Marketing In February and Google Content Network

I know I have barely updated my blog but this is a good thing for me. Cause there are progress in my IM journey and that is why I seldom blog.

First up, I have been helping a friend setup DLGuard and Amember software. What a learning process to go through. I think i can start doing some videos and selling it.

Second, been running 3 campaigns using Yahoo Search Marketing and after failing to get any sales for my first 2 campaigns, my 3rd campaign is already seeing 2 clickbank sales. Thanks to friends and a coach who has been giving us some great training. His name will be revealed soon.

Thirdly, i finally started running my polls for a CPA offer again. Though I lost money, i still consider it a step forward. Spent $215 singapore dollars and earn $165 from my CPA network. This was the first time i ever surpassed $100 for my efforts from the traffic in google content network.

Fourthly, subscribing to SENuke now. Lets see how much money can this software bring my sales.

Business have started picking up. Clickbank sales is still way below my usual mark but hopefully it starts to increase.

Been Pretty Bad Sales Since December 2008 Until January 2009

Is Your Website Accused Of Phishing? I Got Hacked And Resolve It The Hard Way!

I have been pretty inactive for a while since my niche is not for xmas, my clickbank sales really took a dive. Anyway, I was enjoying myself watching so many movies and episodes online that I have to say I really enjoyed myself throughout december.

The best part of 2009 is that I found a IM coach that is coaching 12 of us to be better in our preselling of products to customers and hopefully, that works out!

The worst part of 2009, the really BIG BANG for me happened on January 2nd, 2009. I was about to prepare for a launch of my new adwords campaign and my webhost, Bluehost, dropped me a BOMB! They banned my account because my site is listed as a phishing email site.

I was HACKED!

Worst part, bluehost couldn’t really advise me on what to do except to say I have to remedy the situation. First time encountering such times and sadly, when you look around online, there is alot of solutions for normal email users but not much solutions for webmasters. It is so damn frustrating.

The only thing I found out is to be careful of all php and asp files and html files are relatively safe from being used as phishing. So it was time to do some clean up.

There was no software that I could find to detect which files my web host has that is causing the phishing or could I get bluehost to help in resolving since they say they only provide hosting and it is each person’s own responsibility to take care of what type of software we install onto their server. Sickening but they do have it in their terms and conditions. One thing good was that their live chat support was able to answer me immediately to let me gain access to my domain hosting so that I can rememdy the situation. And once everything was resolved, using their live chat (which is really instant), they enabled my websites to be shown again once I explained my resolution.

So how did I solve the problem?

The best way I know how.

A- Backup all my database,

B – Backup all my web files,

C – Reinstall everything one by one.

I split my solutions into 3 categories =>

1 – websites that are purely HTML

-> Since I read that HTML files seem to be safe, all my websites that are purely HTML will be copied from my backup straight back to my web server. Just need to make sure that the files are uploaded without problems. This solution if it is pure HTML files.

If you have any php files, Look through the php codes to see if there are any unfamiliar codes sending out some funny commands.

2 – Purely WordPress blogs

First thing you need to do is to backup all your database tables. Remember to take note which tables belong to which of your wordpress blogs. This is very important.

Take note of the SQL tables below

wp_comments
wp_links
wp_options
wp_postmeta
wp_posts
wp_term_relationships
wp_term_taxonomy
wp_terms
wp_usermeta
wp_users

You may have other tables but it most likely belongs to other wordpress plugins and not from your original wordpress SQL tables.

2a – The whole point I am trying to achieve is that I am going to backup all my wordpress blogs into my harddisk, uninstall all my wordpress blogs using bluehost web host’s fantastico function. And if there are any remaining files left in the folder, I will delete them all.

2b – Then I will reinstall each blog one by one using the fantastico function again.

2c – Then I will upload my previous wordpress theme that was backed up into my harddisk.

2d – Once done, login to your phpMyadmin function in your web host.

2e – Find the correct database that you have backup on your harddisk and reload it back into your SQL tables.

wp_options
wp_postmeta
wp_posts
wp_term_relationships
wp_term_taxonomy
wp_terms
wp_usermeta

For the wp_comments, the data is the people who commented on your blog so it is up to you if you want it to be loaded or not.

For wp_users, this is not necessary since you have already specified a new profile when reinstalling your wordpress blogs.

2f – Reload whatever plugins you need.

2g – Test if all the links are working.

3 – Mixture of HTML and wordpress

This type of situation is when you have normal HTML files as your main files and have a added blog. Just combined my 2 solutions above if you are in such a situation.

3a -Backup the wordpress SQL tables. Backup all files and folders for that domain into your harddisk.

3b – Remove all files and folders for that domain in your web host. Uninstall wordpress blog from fantastico.

3c- Add back all your html files first and ensure everything is working.

3d – Reinstall wordpress blog. Load back your previous wordpress theme as well.

3e – Load back the wordpress data that you back up previously.

3f – Test. Load any plugins that you need.

The End Of Solution

Above is my brief way to resolve my phishing website problems. Took me 2 full days to complete everything above. There are many other details I missed out, especially if you are not good in technical stuff like reloading SQL data back after reinstalling wordpress.

Plugin and Applications To Note

There are many web applications and wordpress plugins you have to be careful because these programmers may code good uses of applications and plugins, but it may potentially open up your web server to be hacked as these codes may lack security measures or open loopholes that allows hackers to make your website become a phishing website like mine.

Disclaimers:

Ok, I have to put this because I have no idea if I have resolve the situation. I do know that I have cleared almost all files that I am allowed to delete and reinstalled anything (those with php files) that is from bluehost capabilities and not from my previous backup. Only files I reused are those HTML files. Logically, since there are no more files left, then it means I have a clean slate in the web server. But I am not sure so please don’t blame me if it does not work for you. So far, no more problems on my side but keeping my fingers crossed.

Out Of Reservists And Back to Learning The Basics Of Affiliate Marketing

Been pretty out of focus these days and though the sales are coming in slowly, I have decided to go back to basics. Meaning I have been feeling a bit of loss because I seem to miss a step whenever I launch a new campaign and even though some campaigns may bring in sales, it does not really last that long, especially if there are more and more competitors fighting for the same product sales.

I sign on to both Patric Chan and Affilioblueprint courses and see if i can breakthrough from my current stagnation and strive for higher sales. My main aim is still to conquer clickbank sales to achieve at least $3000 per month from it. Though I have temptations to deviate to CPA networks and such, clickbank is something that i would like to conquer.

Lets see how both courses go from here.

Finally Found A Convertable Product On Clickbank That Really Converts

Interesting statistics of my clickbank sales that I have been compiling today. Since I have not been able to do anything these couple of weeks due to me being back training in the army, I was pleasantly surprise to see 2 sales for this week already.

Most of my sales currently come from this one clickbank product and it has been giving me sales every week for the month of october and 2 new sales in the first week of november 2008.

Total, I have already sold 17 and this is the statistics:

1 refund

9 sales generated from google adwords

7 sales generated from article marketing

Highlights of article marketing:

I have only 5 adgroups to get that 9 sales from google but the interesting part is that I have 13 articles to generate 7 sales.

If each article cost me $4 (Singapore dollars), then I have only spent $52. And each sales I will receive USD$26.30 so the total is USD$184 (Sing is $272).

Therefore, my total profits is $272 (sing) -$52 (sing) = $220.

I have already lost count on how much i have spent on google adwords due to the constant bidding changes and deleting of useless keywords but ultimately it became slightly profitable.

So the ratio of my articles to sales will be 13 articles : 7 sales => 53.8% conversion rate.

I have around 50 articles in my harddisk that I have not submitted but let me do an experiment for the month of november to submit all 50 articles and if it works, I should roughly have another 26 sales, which will amount to Sing $1012. Hopefully it will works.

Lazy Has Been My Middle Name These Days But Luckily There Is Clickbank Progress

Frankly speaking, I have not been as hardworking as I should have been and progress has continued to be slow. But the funny thing is sales for clickbank has been improving a bit. In the sense that at least there are some sales this month. Still shy from really making a living online since the sales, when compare to any affiliate, is peanuts (hence businesspeanuts).

I have around 60 over articles not submitted yet so progress should have been much much better i guess. Anyway, I have to apologize if some of you are looking for some information on what i am doing. But basically, my methods are superbly easy and straight forward. Basically I have been very lazy for this product but it seems to bring in the best results.

This is what i have roughly done so far.

The simple 7 steps to small clickbank sales.

Step 1: Find a product in clickbank with gravity between 50 to 200

Step 2: Find long tail keywords and do abit of keyword spying on the competition, gather around 30 keywords (google keyword tool and keyword elite)

Step 3: Buy a domain name (namecheap.com) similar to the product you are promoting

Step 4: For the new domain name, set a redirect to your clickbank affiliate link

Step 5: Write 13 articles and submit to ezinearticles (3 sales from here. I still have 30 articles not submitted for this product)

Step 6: Use those 30 keywords and get as targeted as you can possibly be for some of these keywords. I created around 20 adgroups and slowly eliminated and left with only 6 adgroups now. But these 6 adgroups have generated around 8 sales over these 2 months. I only did my homework in September and I got lazy, so it has been just 6 adgroups without any change for these 1 month plus.

Step 7: Monitor your adgroups cost versus your sales. As well as monitor which of your articles seem to be bringing in the sales.

Thats it.

Simple steps to accomplish right? I tried doing my own landing pages, squidoo pages but heck, I just can’t get the right formula. So might as well just start driving traffic and get some sales on the road, and once there is money, I will spend more time perfecting my landing page skills.

For the time being, the bulk of my money will still have to be on creating websites for clients, as well as doing some part time jobs so that I can outsource more in future.

Stupid Thing I Did To My Businesspeanuts List

First of all, I realize i had not updated my businesspeanuts list for such a long time that i did not realized that people who signed were recommended to a forum that they can earn a bit of money. I always wanted to write a “how-to” guide but was always too lazy busy.

Anyway, I wanted to segregate the active from the inactive just by looking at the list and for some strange reasons, I deleted the whole list of people. Though the list was only consisting of 20 over people, I still couldn’t believe the mistake i made.

Last week, I bought this product call Market Samurai (bought it for US$87) and the promises seems good but the performance and stability has been questionable. It can do keyword research, find all the hubpages, squidoo lens and ezinearticles that has the keyword you are trying to target. But the problem is performance. And sometimes, the loading just cannot seem to finish. I am comtemplating to ask for a refund or to wait for a further release. Anyway here is how it looks like.

It is offering a free trial for 30 days. It cost US$147 for the full version but there is no full version at the moment. Whether you are using free or paid, it is the same version as they are still trying to solve many issues and the estimated time for the whole software to be stable seems to be at the end of the year. So if you intend to buy now, I think you should just save your money until a stable system is out.

First 12 Days Of Being A Full Time Internet Marketer

Typing this blog post at Starbucks, relaxing with a mocha frappacino. Basically, it has been a lazy 2 weeks. First week was a transition period. Distractions from my dogs, my baby niece as well as totally being unmotivated to do anything except eat, sleep and eat some more. But still manage to squeeze out 1 clickbank sales from no where.

Day 1: Receive Patric Chan “Inside The Underground Insider Marketing Lab”

Finally receive my CDs of Patric Chan’s “Inside The Underground Insider Marketing Lab” course that he has been promoting recently. This is probably one of my last Internet Marketing products that I will be buying. I am pretty impress with his courses (I was once in his Chan Do It membership) so far and I am going to use his course to make money within 30 days.

As some of you know, I am turning to IM full time on Monday 01-September-2008. My last day on the job is actually Friday 29th August 2008. So I will rest 2 days during the weekends and next monday, it sounds like a good day to start my journey from ground zero.

Anyway, I will write down my experiences here starting from Day 1 to Day 30. Let’s see how i can apply Patric’s methods to boost my earnings for September 2008.

So far, my IM earnings for August is below:

Earnings from PayPal is US$167.5

Earnings from ebay is US$5.84

Total Earnings: US$258.27

The biggest problem is I cannot withdraw money from ebay and clickbank because the amount is too low for me staying in Singapore. So the target will be to increase my income from clickbank and paypal account to $2k each. And starting from September to December (4 months), lets see how i can increase to such an amount.

Anyway, I have a few part time jobs so I can still have some money for expenses but ultimately, I have burn the bridge of my stable monthly income to force myself to succeed in Internet marketing. Some people say why not wait until you get a stable IM income before you become full time, but my job as a programmer is taking up so much of my energy and time that I barely have any strength to do IM. So it is now or not. The journey starts 1st September 2008.

Great New Features From EzineArticles Directory For Monthly Statistics And Graphs

I was logging in to my ezinearticles account to check my statistics for my new articles when suddenly these graphs appeared. And there was monthly tracking as well. I was pretty impressed. Look below:

This was an article in March 08 and as you can see from the graph, the peak was in May 08 and after that, the traffic didn’t really pick up much. I remember that this article was bringing me one to two clickbank sales per month during those peak months.

In the past, I was recording the statistics myself to track the performance of each articles so that you will know how to improve the SEO as well as get more links to it. But with the monthly statistics and graphs, it will definitely make my life simpler as an article marketer trying to make sense of how each of my articles are performing.

Woo Hoo !!! 3rd Clickbank Sale In First 10 Days Using Google Adwords

Hi,

3rd clickbank sales in first 10 days of August 2008. First time in my own slow history that i got 3 sales in 10 days. Woo hoo!! Spent $5 on advertising and got back $25.92. It sure felt great!

Now, I am stuck though. I have a set of keywords using google adwords but I am not sure how to scale it bigger to increase my traffic and sales. Time to read more books and blogs to find a solution. If anyone can advise me on the next step, it would be greatly appreciated.

Short post on using adwords. 2 sales in early august. I guess it is a pretty good start for me. Though i am far off from alot of people but this is the first time i have such results. At least it is more than $50 per week. For August, have 2 sales hitting $53.26. Plus i just completed a website project for a client for $48 so total income for august 08 is $101.26. Lets see if i can hit $300 this month or not.

My 4th Clickbank Sale In July And Google Adwords Advertising Contributed 3 Of The Sales

Just when I was about to give up on Adwords again (this is the 4th or 5th time already), the magical feeling has happened again! This is the first time in my Adwords history that I have achieved 3 sales in just 3 days using purely Google Adwords advertising.

The last time I achieved a sale from clickbank was in last year september 2007 and so far, in my first 4 attempts at google adwords, I have already lost $400+. So for this fifth time, it feels great that my cost is still low and yet, the profits are there.

Finally … Finally…Finally..

Why the initial dejection from me? Because I have 2 campaigns, one for a CPA offer and one for this clickbank product. I was making a lost on that CPA offer but when the smell of profit is just about to come, I seem to have been slapped on that domain by Google. And the clickbank campaign was not really making money. But after these 3 days, it has been a joy!
